Windstar Blows New Life Into Flotilla
Tuesday, January 8th, 2008
Travellers can expect to feel the wind in their sails this new year when travelling with Windstar Cruises, after the cruise line announced it had completed its scheduled fleet enhancements.
The Wind Star was the last of the Windstar Cruises vessels to be upgraded in the multi-million dollar Degrees of Difference programme, which included remodelling bathrooms, beauty salons and lounge areas.
Windstar Cruises began life as Windstar Sail Cruises in 1984 and launched its first ship in 1986.
"Stateroom bathrooms now have a more contemporary look with new fixtures, open glass shelves, new cabinets, granite countertops, porcelain sinks and a magnifying mirror. Teak floors were refinished to retain the popular nautical style," the cruise line revealed.
Other new upgrades on the company’s cruise ships include recently installed tables and chairs in the veranda and a new bottle display area and lighting in the pool bar.
