Thursday, July 10th, 2008
Myleene Klass wowed the crowds today as she christened the newest member of the Carnival Cruises fleet, Carnival Splendor.
Wearing a stunning red dress, Klass fulfilled her role as godmother to the Carnival Splendor, which will the largest ship to sail out of Dover, the Daily Mail reports.
Singer Klass was due to meet the captain and view the onboard facilities before proceeding to the Lido Deck in order to play Handel’s Water Music on a baby grand piano.
A unique radio signal was then due to be sent to Royal Navy diver PO Christian Rumming, and his underwater Royal Navy dive team.
The Royal Navy diver was then due to chivvy up the side of the ship using a marlin rope and safety harness in order to smash a bottle of locally sourced English bubbly against Carnival Splendor bow.
"I am very excited and a little nervous at becoming a ship’s godmother for the first time. My family is very connected with ships as my father served in the Merchant Navy," the beauty announced earlier this year.
