Royal Caribbean International passengers had the opportunity to mingle in the Cayman Islands last week, when two ships called into port at the same time.
The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism reported that 9,000 passengers disembarked on the same day.
Over 3,000 of the passengers were children who had been enjoying a Nickelodeon-themed cruise onboard the Freedom of the Seas.
Those disembarking the vessels were given a warm welcome by local authorities, with live music and cultural displays, as well as children’s treasure hunts on offer.
Cruise passengers were also treated to a special appearance from Dora the Explorer’s friend Diego.
Trina Christian, executive director of the Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA) commented: "CITA looks forward to future endeavours of this nature that align with our Cruise Sector goals and our general Association objective to provide more opportunity for converting cruise passengers are into return overnight visitors."
Royal Caribbean International operates dozens of cruises annually to destinations including Alaska, Australia, Canada and Bermuda.
