Royal Caribbean Continues Environmental Efforts

Royal Caribbean has made a further donation to an environmental programme aimed at restoring oyster life to the Mosquito Lagoon in Florida.
The operator, which launches the world’s largest cruise liner Oasis of the Seas next December, has now donated a total of $35,000 (£23,765) to the project, which is being administered by the Nature Conservancy and the University of Central Florida.
Anne Birch, director of the Indian River Lagoon programme, said that the oyster reef is important as it filters water, stabilises the coastline and provides food for sea life and people alike.
"With Royal Caribbean’s support, the Conservancy, UCF, thousands of volunteers and many other partners have restored more than 19 acres of oyster reefs," she continued.
Royal Caribbean recently announced it will be bringing the launch of the Oasis of the Seas forward with the addition of two new Caribbean voyages to its itinerary next winter.
