Record Bookings For Carnival

Rather than churn out cruise news in a rather bland way we've decided to discontinue the news in this format and use our cruise blog to cover any newsworthy events.

Record bookings for Carnival
Carnival Cruise Lines is enjoying more bookings than ever, despite the economic downturn.

The company reported earlier this week that it experienced its highest-ever number of bookings last week.

Furthermore, net bookings since January are up ten per cent on last year, suggesting that people are as keen as ever to take holidays at sea.

Gerry Cahill, Carnival’s president and chief executive, said that people appreciate the value and affordability of cruise holidays.

"This record booking activity, while at lower pricing, is certainly encouraging. It tells us that despite the uncertain economic climate, consumers clearly need more fun in their lives and view their vacations as a valuable and necessary part of that," he added.

Carnival currently operates 22 ships and offers voyages ranging from three to 18 days in length.

Passengers can travel to a range of exotic locations including the Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Panama Canal and Bermuda.
