Queen Of Cartoons To Be Celebrated By Carnival Cruises

Cruising is set to be taken to a new dimension as it has been announced that Carnival Cruises and Jason Coleman are to offer a specialty Betty Boop cruise.

The Betty Boop Fan Cruise is the cartoon character’s first official cruise holiday and will set sail on its inaugural voyage aboard Carnival Elation on October 9th 2008.

Special events taking place on the cruise will include Betty Boop screenings, parties, photography sessions along with a showing of collectibles and Betty Boop apparel. Guests will also receive a Betty Boop goody bag.

"Although she made her film debut as a curvaceous canine cabaret singer in the Max Fleischer short Dizzy Dishes [in] 1930, Betty Boop remains animation’s first leading lady and a glamorous international icon," the Betty Boop Fan Cruise website reveals.

Vicki Freed, senior vice-president of sales and guest services at Carnival Cruises commented that the cruise offered a "fantastic opportunity" for Betty Boop fans to meet and celebrate the character while enjoying a top quality cruise holiday.

As well as venerating the screen star, holidaymakers will be able to take advantage of the diverse onboard facilities contained on Carnival Elation, including a waterslide, health and fitness centre and selection of restaurants.
