Princess Recognises Top Shore Excursion Tours
Thursday, May 31st, 2007
As every intrepid passenger on a cruise and stay holiday may be aware, the experience onboard a liner only encompasses half the cruise experience, with the onshore excursions playing a potentially key role in the enjoyment of a holiday.
In an attempt to acknowledge the value of shore excursion staff, Princess Cruises has announced the winners of its Cruise (Courtesy, Respect, Unfailing In Service Excellence) awards.
The ninth such annual event based on choices made by you the passengers on its Caribbean cruise itineraries, this year’s awards ceremony recognised a number of top tours for the 2006-07 season, from the coast-to-coast scenic drive from Foster & Ince in Barbados to the Countryside Tour with Lunch in Montego Bay from World Tours.
Steve Nielsen, vice president of Caribbean and Atlantic shore operations at Princess Cruises, said: "Local tour operators really represent their destinations in our passengers’ eyes and they are so important to ensuring that Princess’ high service levels continue even off the ship."
He added that the company had been "pleasantly surprised" by the high ratings given to such a large number of shore excursions by its cruise holiday passengers.
A number of vessels from the Princess Cruises fleet will take you to sea on a Caribbean cruise, including the 3,100-passenger Caribbean Princess that includes 900 balcony staterooms.
