NCL Cruises has confirmed that it is to sell its Hawaii-based cruise vessel Pride of Aloha to Star Cruises in May.
As of May 11th 2008, Pride of Aloha will be reflagged under the Star Cruises insignia and transferred to Asia for sailings this summer.
The specifically designed Pride of America introduced in 2005 as a "larger and newer" ship, will remain in Hawaii.
"We see a strong future for the long-term flagship in Hawaii, Pride of America. In Pride of America, we have created a commercially successful modern US flag cruise ship home ported in Hawaii - the first time that has ever been achieved," commented Andy Stuart, NCL’s executive vice president of marketing, sales and passenger services.
Pride of America will offer "world class" services on "the most exciting" itineraries in the cruise industry, it is claimed.
NCL Cruises recently announced it is to offer a themed property cruise later this year.
