P&O Cruises has entered the record books again after the 47,000 tonne cruise ship Pacific Sun became the largest ship to ever be based in Queensland.
The Pacific Sun moved to its new berth at Portside Wharf at Hamilton this weekend before commencing on her maiden cruise out of Brisbane to the South Pacific.
Holidaymakers taking cruise holidays onboard the Pacific Sun can enjoy luxury facilities which include two pools, a two-storey water slide and two whirlpool spas.
Fellow P&O Cruises vessel Pacific Star is also based in Queensland and offers many seven-night voyages.
"Pacific Star has been a huge success for us in Queensland, carrying thousands of passengers to idyllic destinations in the South Pacific and Queensland," commented Ann Sherry, chief executive officer of Carnival Australia.
She added that holidaymakers travelling on the Pacific Sun can benefit from the port’s close proximity to tropical destinations in the South Pacific.
