P&O Expands 2009 Programme

Rather than churn out cruise news in a rather bland way we've decided to discontinue the news in this format and use our cruise blog to cover any newsworthy events.

P&O expands 2009 programme
P&O Cruises has expanded its 2009 programme, offering sailings to 182 destinations in 60 countries.

Speaking yesterday, P&O cruises managing director Nigel Esdale said cruising holidays offered superb value for money and were the ideal way for families to combat the strong euro.

"Cruises are now one of the most cost effective ways to visit Europe. Real savings can be made by families and couples, as all the little extras, which turn out to be not so little, in hotels and resorts, like entertainment, supervised children’s clubs and night nursery are all included in the cost of a cruise," he explained.

Some of the highlights of P&O’s expanded 2009 programme include a two-day party cruise onboard the Ventura and a 24-night sailing around North America, taking in a number of ports, including New York, Philadelphia and Boston.

The Ventura, one of the newest additions to P&O’s fleet, was officially named by Dame Helen Mirren earlier this year.
