Italian cruise giant Costa has been speaking of the benefits of taking a winter trip on the Mediterranean sea.
The line’s president and chief executive Maurice Zarmati told potential customers in the US that a European cruise this winter will whisk them off to the finest sights in Italy, the Canary Islands and Morocco.
"It’s no secret in savvy travel circles that visiting Europe in the off-season is one of the best values out there and it’s no secret in even savvier circles that Costa has long been an even better value and richer experience in doing so," he claimed.
Lower temperatures and less crowding make for a "comfortable, value-driven experience", according to Costa, which is offering tours of the Mediterranean onboard its Serena ship this winter.
As well as cruises in the Mediterranean, Costa also offers voyages starting in Norway and the Caribbean.
