Wednesday, November 12th, 2008
Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) has announced plans to carry out renovation work on its Norwegian Spirit vessel.
The 2,376-passenger ship will see its public areas, suites and staterooms transformed as part of a multi-million dollar refurbishment programme.
Commenting on the plans, Andy Stuart, NCL’s vice president and chief product officer, said the cruise line intended to make "significant" enhancements to the ship’s overall look and claimed that the work would "enrich" the guest experience.
"With the combination of our recent Freestyle 2.0 enhancements and all of the refurbishments being made, Norwegian Spirit will emerge refreshed and revitalised for her winter season sailing seven-day Exotic Western Caribbean cruises from New Orleans," he commented.
The refurbishment work will include the addition of 11 new staterooms, new seating in the ship’s Stardust Theatre, new wallpaper in suites, corridors and public areas, and the replacement of tiles in 300 bathrooms throughout the ship.
Other ships in NCL’s fleet include the Norwegian Jade, Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Pearl.
