Friday, September 5th, 2008
A survey carried out by CruiseCritic.co.uk has named Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas as the nation’s favourite ship.
Those polled by the site said that they were impressed by the huge selection of exciting activities on offer, such as the rock climbing wall, ice rink and surf simulator.
The vessel – which boasts a wide selection of high-quality bars and restaurants – was described by reviewers as "jaw-dropping", "stunning" and "perfect".
P&O Cruises’ Ventura ship was singled out as being a "family-orientated" ship, with an extensive range of children’s facilities including a circus school and indoor swimming pool.
One reviewer claimed the Ventura was "Beautiful. Very elegant, with wonderful artwork everywhere."
Other cruise ships featured on the top ten list include Cunard’s Queen Victoria, NCL’s Norwegian Gem and Carnival Cruise Lines’ Carnival Splendor.
In other news, cabins onboard the "revolutionary" Oasis of the Seas finally went on sale this week.
