Improved Connectivity On Queen Mary 2
Wednesday, November 19th, 2008
A recent refurbishment of the Queen Mary 2 has resulted in improved communications for passengers on the ship.
Guests onboard the ocean liner can now take advantage of onboard Wi-Fi internet access across the ship and mobile phone connectivity in most areas, according to owner and operator Cunard.
Those using their mobile handsets at sea need to ensure they have a roaming-capable phone and that their operator has a roaming agreement with Maritime Communications Partner.
However, mobile connections are not available in the Royal Court Theatre, Illuminations, the Queens Room or in the dining rooms.
"Whether enjoying sea days on our legendary transatlantic crossings or world cruises, or visiting ports around the world, our guests will appreciate the ability to be able to stay in touch with home or work," commented Carol Marlow, president of Cunard.
The Queen Mary 2 features 14 decks, more than 3,000 berths and a 1,253-strong crew. It measures more than 1,130 ft long.
