Hong Kong Tipped As Cruising Hot Spot
Friday, May 2nd, 2008
Hong Kong has been tipped to become the next cruising hot spot by one industry commentator.
TravelMole reports that Hong Kong has all the essential attractions a cruise holiday destination requires "in spades".
Michael Dupont, sales and marketing director in Europe for Star Cruises, told the website that the destination boasts the four vital ingredients of fashion, exclusivity, excitement and opportunity.
"Previously a stop on the majority of Asian cruise itineraries, Hong Kong is now a departure point in its own right – making it perfect for holidaymakers looking to combine a land-based break with a wider tour of south east Asia," he commented
He also noted that the upcoming Olympic games in Beijing have played their part in raising the profile of China and the region.
Hong Kong cruises are also good for those new to cruising, it is claimed, with itineraries in the region catering to those looking to enjoy shorter holidays.
On a cruise to nearby China, holidaymakers can visit Beijing and the Forbidden City in addition to the Ming Tombs and the Great Wall of China.
