Holland America Line has announced plans to make a series of enterainment upgrades to five of its vessels, as part of its Signature of Excellence programme.
The ms Statendam, ms Maasdam, ms Ryndam, ms Veendam and ms Rotterdam, will spend around a month in dry-docks next year, as the $200 million revamp begins.
Richard D Meadows, executive vice president of marketing, sales and guest programmes at Holland America Line, commented: "The new musical offerings and entertainment initiatives are designed to be even more compelling and relevant to today’s premium cruiser."
He added that the enhancements would offer guests more choice and flexibility.
As part of the enhancements, a number of "signature" musical groups have been put together to keep guests entertained and the cruise line had redeveloped the main show space onboard the ships, introducing a "glamorous" nightclub feel.
In related news, Holland America Line recently announced that its new 2010 Signature Class ship is to be called the ms Nieuw Amsterdam.
