Rather than churn out cruise news in a rather bland way we've decided to discontinue the news in this format and use our cruise blog to cover any newsworthy events.

Following reports earlier this year that it is to lengthen its Balmoral liner, Fred Olsen Cruises has announced that it is to also lengthen the Braemar.
The vessel will have 31.2 metres of length added to its middle section in addition to an extension of parts of deck eight.
As a result of this work, the ship will have extra room for 250 cruise holiday passengers, with full capacity raised to 977.
Furthermore, travellers on the Braemar will also be able to enjoy a bar based on the traditional British pub, in addition to a new restaurant and additional swimming pool.
Mike Rodwell, managing director at Fred Olsen Cruises, said: "This project to lengthen Braemar has been on the drawing board for several months and I am delighted that we are now able to announce it will be going ahead."
He added that there would be no disruptions to existing cruise holiday plans, as the work has been pencilled in to the company’s schedule for some time.
In April 2007, Fred Olsen Cruises reported that the capacity of the Balmoral would be increased by 350 to 1,340 following construction work.
