A new survey has revealed just how boring children find traditional summer holidays, but one cruise company could have the solution.

According to Ocean Village, 28 per cent of kids are far from enthralled at the prospect of going away with their parents.

Furthermore, 30 per cent of the young respondents complained that their friends will probably be having a better time than them this summer.

Generally, the most likely children to end up squabbling with parents were found in the poll to be those aged around 11.

But before parents go abandoning their summer plans, Ocean Village argues that it has the answer.

The company that claims to offer "cruises for people who don’t do cruises" offers a range of action-packed and family friendly options for those who need to keep little ones entertained.

Its ships offer children’s centres and meals and many of its ‘going ashore’ activities are suitable for families.
