Passengers travelling onboard one of Holland America Line’s seven-day Alaska cruises this summer will have the opportunity to learn about the area’s culinary heritage.
Each cruise will feature a special Taste of Alaska commemorative dinner to celebrate Alaska’s 50th anniversary of statehood.
According to the cruise line, the menu will feature food from Alaska’s communities.
"Alaska offers abundant fresh ingredients, a favorite being wild seafood, and our culinary team has created a memorable menu to showcase the tastes of Alaska," said Richard D Medows, executive vice president of marketing, sales and guest programmes.
Passengers can expect dishes such as Alaskan crab cobb salad, reindeer sausages and vegetable chowder.
Holland America Line recently announced plans to expand its Panama Canal sailings for 2009.
