Ocean Village is focusing its attention on the Mediterranean cruise market in 2009, with a series of sailings to popular ports in the region on both the original Ocean Village cruise liner and Ocean Village Two.
Returning to Palma, Majorca, will be the original Ocean Village cruise vessel, while Ocean Village Two will be based in the eastern Mediterranean, offering cruises from Crete, Venice, Cairo and Istanbul.
Cruise-and-stay options from Ocean Village Two will include Gateways and Gondolas cruises from Venice, Palaces and Pyramids cruises to the Egypt region and a Myths and Minarets cruise to Greece.
Meanwhile, Ocean Village will offer itineraries such as Tapas and Togas cruises and Emperors and Espresso sailings to Tunis, Naples, Florence and Pisa.
"[These cruises] show how easy it can be to combine an easy-going, high-quality cruise with a shot of culture, time out on the beach, big-city sights, retail therapy and the chance to get active - all at a great value-for-money price," Ocean Village managing director Nick Lighton said, according to TravelMole.
Mr Lighton added that the new sailings would be a "wake-up call" for those who have not yet tried their hand at cruising.
