Emerald Princess Embarks On Maiden Voyage To Venice
Friday, April 13th, 2007Princess Cruises has reported that its new Emerald Princess liner has set sail for its first voyage, setting out from the town of Civitavecchia, where Rome’s bustling seaport is situated and heading to Venice - the Queen of the Adriatic.
Those travelling on the Princess Cruises ship will be able to enjoy the popular design features first seen on the same company’s Crown Princess liners, with a spectacular atrium in the style of a piazza joined by the adult-only cruise retreat known as The Sanctuary.
Passengers can also dine in a number of informal locations onboard, or instead opt for the opulent Chef’s Table dinner for connoisseurs of fine food and wine or instead elect to try Princess Cruises’ unique homemade pizza.
" Emerald Princess will offer the many other innovations that define the Princess experience, including the popular Movies Under the Stars poolside movie screen [and] multiple entertainment options," the company reports.
The liner also features 900 staterooms with private balconies to allow passengers to take in the stunning views of Europe as they head closer to the canals of Venice.
Last month, Princess Cruises reported that its 2008 season for Europe would be its largest to date, with a number of new destinations and itineraries.
