Cruises Are Fantastic For Disabled Travellers - But Work To Be Done

Cruises are fantastic for disabled travellers - but work to be done
An agent for a leading travel company for disabled people has praised cruise holidays as an excellent option for her clients.

Accessible Travel and Leisure agent Tracy McFall believes cruise holidays are a great choice for those with mobility problems as they negate the need to fly which is often a problem for disabled passengers with medical conditions, Travel Weekly reports.

A spokesperson for P&O Cruises is quoted by the travel publication as stating: " P&O Cruises has always excelled itself on facilities for those with disabilities and we make every effort to accommodate passengers with impaired mobility."

However, Ms McFall added that cruise companies could still do more to enable the travel of disabled customers.

Island Cruises has two ships in its fleet which are specially equipped to accommodate disabled passengers, with the Island Star and the Island Escape both offering twin and L-shaped cabins with extra space and an accessible shower.
