Cruise Passengers Say Aye-aye Do

Cruise passengers say aye-aye do
Nautical romantics can now look forward to the pleasure of being married at sea - by none other than the ship’s captain.

Celebrity Cruises has announced that it is to launch legal wedding ceremonies conducted by the captain later this year.

This service will serve to complement its current vow renewal and in-port wedding packages.

"While many of our guests come onboard seeking a once-in-a-lifetime wedding or vow renewal location … their number-one request is for captains to perform the ceremony," Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Celebrity Cruises vice-president of hotel operations stated.

She added: "Now, we’re able to fulfil that wish, while sailing the open waters of the world."

Couples onboard Celebrity Cruises vessels can enjoy a captain-performed wedding package - including champagne - from $2,500 and are advised to book in advance of their sailing to allow time for licenses and other legal documents to be processed.
