Cruise Line Prepares For Launch Of Ruby Princess

The latest cruise ship preparing to join the Princess Cruises fleet has had her sea legs tested.

Ruby Princess has successfully completed her sea trials off the coast of Italy and is now back in her Fincantieri shipyard where the final touches are being put in place to her interior and exterior.

Features onboard Ruby Princess include a piazza-style atrium, an adults-only Sanctuary retreat and a Movies Under the Stars outdoor movie screen.

During the four-day sea trials, Ruby Princess performed a series of manoeuvres designed to examine her steering as well as propulsion capabilities and her navigational equipment.

Princess Cruises described the cruise ship’s achievements in the trials as a "major milestone" ahead of her debut.

Ruby Princess is due to launch on November 8th 2008, at which point she will set sail on her maiden voyage which will include calls to the Western Caribbean including Grand Cayman and Princess Cays.
