Rather than churn out cruise news in a rather bland way we've decided to discontinue the news in this format and use our cruise blog to cover any newsworthy events.

Following the success of its cruising weblog, Carnival Cruises has announced that its Carnival Freedom vessel will embark on a celebratory Bloggers Cruise in honour of the thriving site.
Hosted by the writer of the blog, senior cruise director John Heald, the Carnival Freedom will set sail on a Caribbean cruise from Miami on January 19th 2008, taking in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, George Town, Grand Cayman and Cozumel, before heading back to port.
The weblog on the Carnival Cruises site offers a number of features to provide you with a wealth of useful information before booking a cruise holiday with your travel agent, including photographs and a Q&A section.
"I invite all of our readers to sail on this special Bloggers Cruise which, in addition to some fun activities, offers a great chance for us to meet and have an incredible time," said Mr Heald.
He added that he hoped the cruise holiday, which includes special trivia contests, photo opportunities and a special welcoming reception, would be the first of many such events.
Mr Heald has most recently posted to his weblog from Italy, reporting on the spicy and distinctive Pizza Diablo available in Naples.
