Carnival Cruises has announced plans to add a new ship to the fleet used by subsidiary company Holland America Line.
Due to be delivered by 2012, the €425 million (£287.3 million) ship will offer accommodation for 2,100 passengers and boast a range of luxury features.
As well as 1,050 state rooms, the ship will contain a 144-seat speciality restaurant and include an expanded Greenhouse Spa and glass elevators offer views across the sea.
President and chief executive officer of Holland America Line, Stein Kruse, said that the new vessel will act as a sister ship to the new Eurodam, which is due to set off on its maiden voyage next year.
"These two elegant vessels will embody the many on-board amenities that Holland America Line first introduced to cruising as part of our very successful Signature of Excellence initiative," he explained.
Holland America Line currently offers cruises to Europe, Alaska and the Caribbean.
