Rather than churn out cruise news in a rather bland way we've decided to discontinue the news in this format and use our cruise blog to cover any newsworthy events.

Passengers on the Carnival Splendor have been given an opportunity to name the ship’s brand new 21,000 square foot luxury spa and, in doing so, win themselves a cruise holiday for two on the ship.
Carnival Splendor will set sail for the first time in July 2008 and in addition to the panoramic sea views and stunning cruise itineraries on offer, you can also enjoy what Carnival Cruises has dubbed its "most spectacular spa ever".
The vessel will begin by offering tours of northern Europe, while it is already taking bookings on a number of Mediterranean cruise itineraries and Caribbean cruises.
If you opt for luxury cruise spa accommodation on these trips, you can take advantage of unlimited use of the lavish spa facilities, including its thermal suite, fitness classes and thelassotherapypool.
Bob Dickinson, president and chief executive officer of Carnival Cruises, said: " Carnival Splendor will be a wonderful addition to the Fun Ship fleet, highlighted by a spectacular health and fitness centre that will provide our guests with unprecedented levels of pampering and relaxation."
He added that it was proper that a fine name be chosen to encapsulate the range of features and feeling of the new spa facility.
Last month, Carnival Cruises announced the launch of a new website displaying a number of newly-installed features on its vessels introduced as part of its multi-million pound Evolutions of Fun refurbishments.
