Carnival Cruises has officially broken the record for the number of cruise passengers passing through the Port of Southampton, it has been announced.
The provider of family cruises and casual cruises saw a record 28,319 passengers embark and alight from seven of its ships between August 31st and September 2nd.
According to Carnival Cruises chief executive officer David Dingle, the news is a "spectacular result" for the company’s cruise brands and the port itself.
"With some of our passengers less than a year old it also demonstrates the popularity of cruising across the generations," he added.
Carnival Cruises fun ships offer facilities that will cater to the needs of both adults and children - including numerous open deck swimming pools.
