Holiday cruise company MSC has announced the return by popular demand of its show-stopping Big Band-themed Caribbean cruise.
MSC Lirica will host the 10-night roundtrip from Florida’s Fort Lauderdale to Panama, with the swinging ship due to set sail in February 2009, according to prnewswire.com.
Featuring the smooth sounds of the 15-strong Les DeMerle Big Band, passengers will be tapping their feet and swinging their hips all the way to the cruise’s scheduled stops in Mexico, Costa Rico, Panama, Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
Drummer Les DeMerle has formerly played with many of music’s big-hitters including the Harry James Big Band and Wayne Newton and promises a blistering set of Broadway hits mixed with everything from Duke Ellington to Latino grooves.
MSC Cruises is the world’s largest Italian holiday cruise company and founded in 1987.
The company now has a fleet of eight cruise ships, including new flagship MSC Musica.
