Carnival Cruise Lines has announced plans to add balconies to 98 of the existing staterooms on its Carnival Sensation vessel.
The balconies will be added during a dry dock stay in January 2009, with each one measuring around 230-square-feet, Cruise Talk Central reports.
A series of modifications will also be made to the ship’s existing balconies, in order to create a more "spacious area from which to enjoy sea views".
The modifications will be made as part of Carnival Cruise Line’s multi-million-dollar enhancement programme.
As well as the addition of new balconies, the Carnival Sensation will also benefit from a new aqua park and an adults-only venue known as the Sanctuary.
The 2,052-passenger vessel is part of Carnival’s Fun Ship fleet and currently operates voyages to destinations including the Bahamas, Caribbean and Mexican Riviera.
In related news, it was announced earlier this week that the Carnival Fantasy is to return to service following a series of extensive upgrades.
